WHALE TALK
Perhaps humanity’s age-old wish is to properly understand animals. An international team of scientists is trying to apply the latest findings and technology in order to decode and translate the languages unknown to man – to communicate with animals.
How do the systems of communication between highly intelligent animals work? Do they have their own language, or does their way of communication escape our understanding? The film combines engaging images with easy-to-understand commentary initiating the viewer into the current scientific discourse on animal communication. Scientists apply new technologies for pattern recognition when eavesdropping on killer whales. Will they be able to distinguish basic concepts of their language? And how complicated is their speech?
