Zoologists from the Czech University of Life Sciences travel to remote corners of the Congolese rainforest to explore its biodiversity and contribute to its protection.

The second largest rainforest on the Earth currently faces many threats, from deforestation and overhunting to poaching. The perspectives of scientists, natives and animals meet in the camera frame captured by Michal Gálik, who lets the local fauna speak for itself. Grim footage of killed exotic monkeys does not terrify or serve as a superficial criticism but rather poses questions regarding the causes and purposes. In this context, the viewers will learn what “bushmeat” is, how the locals traditionally hunt and what we can do to fight against illegal poaching.
