Pleistocene Park
The unconventional Russian geophysicist Sergei Zimov, his son Nikita and an ambitious project to restore an ecosystem that disappeared 10,000 years ago with the end of the Ice Age.
Two men in one of the least hospitable places in the north gather vast herds of cattle and release them into the “Pleistocene Park” in the Siberian wilderness. Everything is done low-cost and without official permits or outside help. According to them, rebuilding the Ice Age ecosystem might be the way to prevent the worst-case climate scenario. Will they be able to build the Serengeti of the north before the permafrost melts?
