GLUTEN: PUBLIC ENEMY?
Wheat has been a part of our diet for thousands of years. However, the number of people suffering from gluten intolerance and coeliac disease has been rising sharply. Why? What's changed? And is gluten the true enemy?
For some, gluten-free food is a fad; for others, a necessity. Some may even see it as a profitable business. However, gluten itself is still surrounded by a number of myths and doubts. The main topic of this investigative documentary is the search for the causes leading to the sharp increase in its intolerance. Aside from scientists and doctors, the film gives space to activists and farmers, which leads to the revelation of unexpected connections and perhaps even answers the question of whether gluten is really the biggest problem.
