Beneath our feet lies a hidden network that sustains life on our planet. The documentary follows scientists Petr Kohout and Tomáš Větrovský as they investigate how fungi and soil shape the future of our climate and respond to its changing conditions. Forests and diverse fungi alternate with news where scientific facts collide with political manipulation and public indifference. Field and lab research is accompanied by playful animations of mycorrhizal networks and a striking score by Please the Trees. Perhaps understanding the mycocosm will help us face the chaos unfolding above ground.
