Raghunath 'Rana' Belur
Producer of My Otter Diary
Raghunath 'Rana' Belur
Raghunath ‘Rana’ Belur is a wildlife filmmaker and freelance cinematographer from Bengaluru, India, specialising in films related to wildlife, conservation, and social causes. A Jackson Wild Summit Fellow, he enjoys observing and learning animal behaviour while also geeking out on gadgets and the latest technology.
His focus is on simplifying the most complex science subjects. How can a non-fiction story be made attractive enough for the masses with tiny attention spans? He believes that without understanding the wildlife, you cannot conserve them, and with this in mind, he often travels with his films, connecting with people and discussing issues and solutions.
Their debut feature documentary, “My Otter Diary”, commissioned by ZDF/ARTE and NHK and distributed by All3Media International, was co-produced with Oxford Scientific Films and has been nominated for awards at the Wildscreen Panda Awards, the Jackson Wild Media Awards, and the Green Screen Film Festivals, and has been broadcast across many international networks.
