Material at the intersection of nature, craft and architecture. Why is wood returning to the Czech construction industry?
Wood has shaped the Czech landscape and architecture for centuries, and its importance is again on the rise thanks to its sustainability, healthy environment and aesthetic appeal. Produced by the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences of ČZU and its partners, the documentary follows wood from forest to contemporary architecture, showcasing buildings across Czechia. It follows the entire process from timber production in Czech forests and processing to the prefabrication and construction of homes and other buildings. Scientists, manufacturers, investors and users present wood as a material that is strong, aesthetic and beneficial to health.
