A country without wetlands is a country without life.

Authorial cinematic poem by Radek Plíhal shows the importance of water in our countryside – not through words but through the remarkable paintings and music of Lenka Dusilová and Petr Ostrouchov. We can witness the story of natural decline in the wetlands, forests and bogs of Šumava following the loss of water and the subsequent efforts to mitigate the ecological disaster. The striking audio-visual poem reminds us of the power of narration through imagery and bears testimony to the state of Czech nature, as well as the hope that we can always make things better if we only try.
