Beyond the Curtain of Nature – Bats
Bats and horseshoe bats belong to the Chiroptera family, the second most diverse group of mammals. One of their abilities is to adapt to different environments and find their way in the dark, thanks to echolocation. To get to know these creatures, researchers must follow them to almost inaccessible underground spaces where they dwell in complex social structures. What is so fascinating about bat behaviour? And what is the daily routine of a bat? The Beyond the Curtain of Nature series explores the Podyjí National Park to find out more about these remarkable animals.
