Where quarries end, new wilderness begins. Should nature’s return be guided or left to run its course?
The new ten-part documentary series follows the transformation of the landscape of northern Bohemia in the wake of mining. This episode visits vanished villages, brought to life by eyewitnesses, and the shores of Most and Milada lakes, where new wilderness is emerging. Director Michal Gálik captures the clash between strict reclamation plans and the untamed force of natural succession, revealing how nature left to its own devices can create richer habitats for rare species than any planned project.
The screening will be followed by a discussion on the return of untamed nature to the landscape.
