Official Selection of this year’s Prague Science Film Fest is out! From a record 1,680 submissions, the programmers have selected the final eleven documentaries. Various topics not only from the field of natural sciences are linked by the theme of human health in the context of the environment and prevention.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This year, we wanted to take a closer look at more artistic and daring possibilities of filmmaking and to disrupt long-established ideas about what constitutes a popularisation documentary,”<\/em> says Zden\u011bk Rychtera, the head of programming. Visually impressive films will focus on issues such as the impact of food on our health, biodiversity loss, and the relationship between humans and moths. We will set out to discover what the soil hides, what ethical dilemmas organ donation brings, or what kind of power flowers have. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The upcoming PSFF edition with the motto “fitcheck” covers the topic of health, whether from the perspective of the body, the psyche, or the environment. “The list of science documentaries submitted year after year shows that mentioning environmental change is hard to avoid these days. I don’t have any clear favorites among the films myself, but I am impressed by the dedication and systematic approach of the selected films to their subject matter,”<\/em> says Zden\u011bk Rychtera, who would also like to thank all the filmmakers, producers, and distributors for choosing to screen the films at our festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best films will bring home awards, PSFF Official Selection films also compete for the Grand Prize, which is awarded in cooperation with our partner festival AFO. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
