The competition film selection for this year’s Prague Science Film Fest is ready! Out of nearly 1,500 submissions, our program curators have selected the final sixteen films from across the globe. From 14 to 17 October, let’s dive into the latest trends in capturing flora and fauna at the ČZU Campus in Prague.
“This year, for the first time, we used the festival’s theme as a guiding principle while selecting the films. We wanted to highlight a core documentary subgenre – the natural science documentary – which runs through each of the competition entries,” said Zdeněk Rychtera, Head of Programming, discussing this year’s competition selection. The films will take you among wolves, lead you on a voyage through the Antarctic, and let you experience the sounds of nature. Whether exploring biodiversity conservation or the aging of cheese, we’re in for unforgettable visual experiences.
With this year’s focus on wildlife, PSFF will showcase how animals and plants are portrayed, and how the relationship between humans and nature is documented, especially in the face of the climate crisis. Can we give nature the space it needs to heal?
The best films will be honoured with awards, culminating in the Grand Prize, awarded jointly with our festival partner, AFO.
