This year’s festival invites you to step into alterna tive worlds through virtual and augmented reality. If you’d like to experience our immersive zone program located in the lobby of the Auditorium, we recommend reserving your spot on site. The program will be accessible on festival days from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.



Shadowtime (2023, Sister Sylvester & Deniz Tortum, 20’)

What is it like to be both inside the body and outside of it, in reality and in its reflection? Shadowtime connects everyday moments with the history of the planet and reveals virtual reality as a space where irreconcilable realities meet.



Emperor (2024, Marion Burger, Ilan J. Cohen, 40’)

Striking visuals, dynamic space, and movement create a new language, bridging the gap between a daughter and her father, who can no longer speak. Through interactive virtual reality, viewers gain insight into the mind of someone living with aphasia.



Age of the Monster (2023, Benjamin Nuel, 12')

From the comfort of a 1970s home near a power plant, we step into a world where humanity's presence fades, and nature reclaims its territory. A silent, ghostly figure—both observer and relic of a changing landscape—leads us through crumbling walls and flourishing greenery. A mysterious guide unlocks the door to a magical realist glimpse of a post-Anthropocene world.



The Hydrous – AR Reef

Pick up your phone and build your own coral reef around you. Using 3D scans of real corals, you can explore their beauty, learn about them, and watch as they transform in interactive augmented reality.
