A battle between man and predator is taking place in the fields and pastures of Belgium. Who has the right to survive – a wild wolf or a domesticated sheep? The documentary follows three shepherds struggling with the return of wolves to the Belgian countryside, reaching beyond the ecological aspects and illustrating the ethical and practical conflict between the protection of predators and raising livestock. Captivating footage of peaceful grazing and insights into the life of sheep are accompanied by atmospheric music. This natural tableau of a tamed landscape proves that sheep are no mere victims, presenting an embodiment of conflict between wilderness and our attempts to subdue it.
