Among The Wolves
A vast, snow-covered forest. Two men walk through it with backpacks on their backs and cross a frozen river. They arrive at a peat bog where they will spend the next two weeks.
Among The Wolves follows the unique journey of photographer Olivier and painter Yves, who spend fifteen days each season in a small prospecting hut in the wilderness between Finland and Russia.
Their aim is to observe the wolves, to remain invisible and not to go out so they don’t scare the pack. For a whole year, they watch the changes of nature and wait for the moment when they will see the beasts. In an environment with temperatures plummeting to -19°C, they capture life in silence and solitude. This meditative film shows their ups and downs and the deep connection with nature that brings them back to the wolves again and again.
