DAVID ABEL: REPORTING FROM THE FRONTIERS OF CLIMATE CHANGE AND CONSERVATION, A JOURNALIST’S PERSPECTIVE

  • Lecture

Boston Globe environmental reporter and Entangled Director David Abel will discuss his career as a writer and filmmaker covering climate change and conservation. He will discuss how he tells stories in different mediums and what motivates him to cover these vital issues.

David Abel is an award-winning reporter and documentary filmmaker who has covered the war in the Balkans, the riots in Latin America and national security issues in Washington. Abel and his colleagues at The Boston Globe won the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Outstanding Reporting for their coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings. His practice combines journalism with film, and his latest documentary, Entangled, explores how climate change has precipitated a clash between one of the world's most endangered species, North America's most valuable fishery, and the federal agency charged with protecting both.
